January 2019: post holiday blues & Ted King Admiration 🔺

Here's the thing about January, it's basically like a cold splash of water to the face and then ... nothing!

Everyone is coming off the holiday high and this elusive promise of a NEW YEAR...what does that even mean? I don't mean to be a debbie downer but January 2nd hits and everyone is still in a fog wondering why things don't feel so fresh and why the Christmas lights are still up. It's called The Post Holiday blues. So what is one to do about this? - You get the heck out of dodge and mix it up while the holiday break is still going. For us - that means Healdsurg with the Beevors!!

Of course anytime we go away Macho immediately had a foot/ auto-immune problem so off to the vet we go. AGAIN. This time we were actually thrilled to go with Mom because we got to meet new friends! Our vet is awesome and she has like 100 pets. Even an Emu --- I kid you not! Speaking of kids ... She had two new baby goats with the BEST names that anyone could ever think of.

January at the Beach? you bet! It's a weird time of year in NorCal when its bone chilling cold but absolutely gorgeous outside. Mom decided that we should take full advantage and buy wetsuits. 

Even dad couldn't help but come along for their first ride. 

Chrissy Field beach is the best with all the free range doggos!

and then of course we had to try out the other beaches in the area too with Beevors + doggos!!

Even Dad made it out for some fresh air with the doggos. 

They are each other’s comfort animals. 

This is where I was telling everyone that it’s really far down to the earths core and magma is not coming up for the Hot Pot party.

January also means it’s time for Art. My first REAL art show with Mom, Frances & her family was so much fun. It's pretty incredible what people consider “Art” but it’s fun & creative so I loved every minute of it.

Franny and I want Rock chairs in our apartment! Seriously Arting is the Best day ever, now I know why Mom & Dad love it so much. Inspiration everywhere!!

While I was acting, Morty found his happy place in the nearest creak. Water water Water - Morty is like a Labrador. Hours of fun!

Everyone is concerned about Dad and getting him back on the road to recovery ASAP! 

It just so happens that the infamous Ted & Laura King were in town for a ride that Dad was supposed to be going but the being that he had a hole in in shoulder blade, that's was not happening. The upside of the ride is that Ted & Laura came to cheer Dad up, Ted is well versed in PT and made an excellent PT partner and Mom got to hang out with Laura - Yippee! Laughter and smiling from ear to ear really is the best medicine. 

Ted does his best to stay warm in the Vermont winters - hence the Ronald McDonald hair style. 

We try not to haze him toooooo much for this, but hair jokes are par for the course. Needless to say, Ted was unphased. 

Speaking of fun - Morty really gets the best deal. Seeing Dad can't ride, Morty gets to go out with Ted in lieu of Dad. They are pretty much the cutest duo you've ever seen! 

And of course what would be arise with Ted if it didn't come with some sort of a coffee shop or Nourishment of some sort? Mag's is Mort's fave & of course Ted will main line coffee any day of the week so it was a perfect pit stop for both. 

Ted is such a good sport, he even talked LEGO with Morty, upping his Hero status to a high level - if that were even possible!??! #TedKingismyHero

January is also when the soggy days of Flag Football are under way. Im not sure who is suffering more though - the spectators or the players. It turns out the parents of Flag Football players can be really aggressive jerks to their children and Mom is constantly rolling her eyes. 

What's the best way to lighten the mood after flag football - FroYo of course!!!

The loving Cup even has a non-dairy version for mom. Winning!!!!

What's my favorite way to wrap up January? - Snap chat!!! 

Well, I call it "Snap of the Chat" and I'm technically not allowed to have Snapchat as an app on my iPad and I have to ask Mom if I can use it on her phone but it still is the best way to make everyone laugh. Who doesn't want that?!!
