Thinking back on our first new year in “The Bubble” of Northern California made me realize how much has changed in such a short amount of time. In my older age, I’ve started to see how quickly time passes when you live in a place that lets you get lost in the fairy world right in your own back yard with friends - furry and not so furry.
The first new year we spent here, we decided to hike and pick up trash & go for a hike to soak up all that is awesome in our world. Well, actually mom bribed us with milk shakes. Of course we knew that it was the right thing to do but we held out for the goods. The Banana slugs were more than I bargained for but Mo thought they were super awesome.
January itself is a pretty rainy time of year in our “bubble” and we seem to forget that and everyone grumbles ~ even after all the fires.
We make the most of It though - not to worry. Dad still rides his heart 6 out of 7 days.
We take to the park with the doggies to let them play in the creek (until Macho slices his foot open on a rock because his pads get too soft) We play in the mud and Mort couldn’t be happier to be in the water no matter how cold it gets. He’s already talking about getting waders for his birthday!
Don’t forget it basketball season too in our world, we continue to try and keep the family b-ball tradition alive and sometimes we might even make an assist!
My favorite thing about rainy January’s are the times we spend with the Harrison’s. Dinners, movies, photo shoots, games, it’s all hilarious and the Moms are rolling right along with us. Plus mom says yes to most things when she’s with Dina ~ don’t let her in our secret!
The everyday life is feeling pretty fine - haircuts with Bubba the barber shop dog are a highlight right now and we can't help but give him a quick cameo.
Things were looking good for the new year - as you can see Morty has finally realized who's boss around here and we are making strides!
