2018 - December DOH 😖 #ManDown

December 2018 was meant to be one to remember... and OH it was!
We were going to break out of the mold and have an adventure with the whole fam on the west coast.

The month started off the same as always.... Looking for the best tree to bring on home & call our own.

Look at me - I'm a CHRIST-MOOSE!

More lacrosse....

More sleepovers with Soph

Basketball getting underway early

More gingerbread house making parties and making “Christmas Crack” for all to enjoy the cavities that have been well under way since Halloween night.

Planning was well underway with Christmas dinner ideas, Christmas tree selection made, decking the halls as they say. It was merry and seemingly bright...... they even gave a manners luncheon at school to help us look less like wild animals at our upcoming festive dinners.

And then it rained, like it usually does in December but this time the Eucalyptus trees were not just shedding the water off their leaves but the oils that come off that gorgeous smelling tree as well.
Dad was riding his bike .... and then he wasn’t riding it “rubber side down” in an instant. He was riding his shoulder into the ground instead.

He was lucky - no cars on the road and two cyclists found him right away. As the saying goes, it could have been worse. Shattered and sheared he came home that day and we all felt a bit buckled but as we do, we persevered, we watched and engaged where we could and let go where we couldn’t do much. He did all the REAL work and so much of it was still on the way and for months to come.

ALLLLL of the Midwest Fam was in town and we wanted to make sure they saw the sights and felt the West Coast love just like Dad had intended, or the best we could do with all the rain anyhow. Boooooo!

The Sutro Baths

Artisan ice cream samplings

ending Daddo love from our adventures

Walking though Muir woods.... very wet indeed but still gorgeous

We even made it to the best DIM SUM in town

Christmas Eve dinner : )

Prezzie time is soooo close!

The much anticipated, very long in the works Xmas dinner.
Martha & Mom really rocked it out and it was pretty tastey.

Leila ended up with a HUGE lot of Ariana Grande memorabilia. It was hilarious!

Icing on on the Christams Cake?/!!
Bean & Magtoody came too and we couldn't have been more happy to have their cheery squeals and Bean Puffs about the house.

But ... like my Dad always does, he made it through with the love of furry friends and less furry ones too.

Headbands is the best with Magtoddy. They are sooooo funny!

~~ The end of the year didn’t come together the way we thought it might .... but we stuck together none the less and now it’s just part of the story behind us in 2018. Taking the beach when we can for some water therapy helps everyone!

Let the healing be speedy so Dad can get back on that bike!
