Confused holiday

I'll admit it, I'm completely confused why the holiday "Easter" exists. Bunnies dont lay eggs, so why are we hunt? I have decided that I will be organizing the next holiday.

So far, this is what I've got...
Unicorns, fairies, shiny shoes, tutus.
Mom says I might need to narrow it down but I say -what else can I add?!
